BSc (Hons) Nursing Practice (Top-Up)
This Top-Up degree is for qualified nurses (already registered or internationally educated with a valid licence) who want to upgrade their qualification to a full honours degree. It’s designed to let you relate theory directly to your clinical practice speciality—whether that’s adult, mental health, paediatric, learning disability, or other domains.
You’ll explore advanced competencies such as critical thinking and clinical decision-making, evidence-based practice, reflective practice, patient-centred care, and safety governance. The programme includes simulation facilities (mock wards, community environments, etc.) to practise relevant skills. A major research project forms the capstone, allowing you to address a healthcare topic you are passionate about and link it to improvements in your own area of practice.
Note: This course does not lead to registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) if you don’t already hold NMC registration—it’s academic top-up rather than qualifying nursing registration.
