BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management (Top-Up)
This top-up degree is designed for students who already have an HND or an equivalent Level-5 qualification in accounting, finance, business or a related field. It helps you progress to a full honours degree, with a strong focus on understanding how accounting and financial management support business decision-making. You’ll learn both theoretical and practical skills: managing finance, analysing reports, understanding international accounting standards, governance, ethics, and strategic cost/accounting planning.
You work through real business problems using case studies, reports, assignments, plus develop independent learning and analytical thinking. The course prepares you not just for number-crunching roles, but for positions where you need to make financial recommendations, work with governance or regulatory issues, or contribute to the sustainability and strategic planning of organisations.

Duration: 1 years (Full-time)
Inside the Learning Segments
- Financial Management (30 credits) – exploring strategic financial decision-making, structuring finances, debt/equity, sustainability in finance
- Strategic Management Accounting (30 credits) – using costing and control tools, profit maximization, decision making in firms
- International Financial Reporting (30 credits) – IFRS standards across jurisdictions, preparation & presentation of financial statements, regulatory framework
- Corporate Governance and Ethics (30 credits) – understanding organisational governance, ethical business practices, failures and sustainability
HND (or equivalent Level-5) in business, finance, or management; passes in English and Maths (or equivalent); English language proficiency (e.g. IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in each band)
