MSc Public Health and Community Wellbeing
Develop the knowledge and skills to address contemporary public health challenges and improve community wellbeing. This MSc provides an advanced, evidence-informed understanding of how social, economic, environmental, and digital factors shape health outcomes. You will build the analytical and professional skills needed to reduce health inequalities and drive positive change.

Trimester 1
- Principles of Public Health and Community Wellbeing
Explore the foundations of public health, including prevention, health promotion, and social determinants of health.
- Epidemiology and Community-Engaged Research Methods
Learn how to analyse population health data and apply research methods to real-world issues.
Trimester 2
- Global Health Systems and Health Inequalities
Examine how health systems operate worldwide and how inequalities impact outcomes. - Digital Health for Equity and Community Wellbeing
Evaluate the role of digital tools, AI and communication in public health.
Trimester 3
- Leadership and Project Management for Public Health and Community Wellbeing
Develop leadership skills and learn how to plan, deliver and evaluate public health initiatives. - Applied Research Project: Public Health and Community Wellbeing
Conduct an independent research project on a topic relevant to public health practice.
Applicants should hold a second-class honours degree (2:2 or above) in a relevant subject or a related discipline. Applications from all candidates will be considered on their merits in the light of the nature and scope of the programme and if they have experience.
Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency in line with University requirements.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and entry with advanced standing will be considered in accordance with University regulations.
